After Your Site Is Live

As your business changes your website must change too. New services? Prices? Locations? These will require updates to your website to be sure that your online visitors have the latest information. A pre-paid maintenance account allows you to schedule changes to your site at a discounted rate.

After Launch

Maintenance is any of the minor changes, adjustments and updates made to your website after launch, not inclusive of any redesign. All maintenance is done in accordance with the existing “skin” or “look and feel” of the website. It includes adding links and address changes, but may not include a whole new navigation menu system.

Many web design companies offer a maintenance package that includes so many hours of work per month. Typically time not used up in one month was not carried over to the next. We tried that for a while, but felt that it was not meeting our clients’ needs. We found that many of our customers did not know how many changes they would need in a month, and others changed from month to month.

Our maintenance solution is to offer pre-paid and discounted development hours. These blocks of time are purchased in advance of the maintenance need. Typically when a site is designed and launched a business will purchase a set amount of maintenance hours. Some choose not to purchase any and are just billed at the normal development rate when changes are requested. This is up to the site owner to decide based on his anticipated needs.

Maintenance hours are kept track of like a retainer. Dynamic Webscapes subtracts development hours from the maintenance pool as updates are made to the site. When the available maintenance hours approaches zero Dynamic Webscapes will contact the site owner about the need to purchase additional hours.

Support Site

Dynamic Webscapes uses an online application to track support requests from our clients. Our clients can log in any time of day or night and request that a change be made to their website. While that seems pretty simple, it has really saved a lot of time with respect to making the requested change. By saving Dynamic Webscapes time to make a change for our clients, it saves our client's money in terms of maintenance costs for their website. Part of the time savings is because all communication about the change is kept associated with the ticket instead of spread out through a series of email communications. By entering the information in a single ticket and using the notes section of the ticket to ask and receive answers to questions it keeps all of the information about the request right there in the ticket. The system automatically generates and sends emails to the affected parties keeping them advised of changes in the ticket. These emails can either be kept or discarded as desired because all of the information is available from our support site at any time.
